Federico Beauty Institute Explores the Beauty of Italy
Federico Beauty Institute sent a very lucky group of students to Italy last March for a field trip to Florence and Rome. This region was created by the greats of the Renaissance and the ancient Emperors of Rome, and the students enjoyed visiting these ancient cities.
First, the students visited Northern Italy and appreciated its modern style. They attended the Cosmoprof show, which is a very important international cosmetics and beauty event. Students mixed with almost 200,000 beauty sector attendees and vendors.
This show was held in Bologna. It was mainly about the spa industry; however, representatives of the manicure, hairdressing, cosmetic and perfume industries were also present from all over the world. The show was arranged over 20 pavilions and even provided a 'decompression room' where visitors could take a break and enjoy a foot massage.
The students went to Perugia to enjoy the many fine chocolate shops. Perugia is the home of the Chocolate Bacis or Kiss, so it is easy to see why it has become one of the most famous places in the world to buy chocolate. After that, they went to Florence and visited the Academy of Fine Arts where they were able to see such masterpieces as Michelangelo's David. They also visited Michelangelo's grave in the Santa Croce Square. This is one of the oldest squares in the city.
When the students finished up in Florence, they headed off to Rome in the south and enjoyed the wonders of the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museum. Students also enjoyed viewing the collected treasures of the Roman Church as well as one of the most important art collections in the world. On the last day of the trip, the students visited the ruins of one of the first great civilizations in the world. Students had the opportunity to visit the main meeting place of the dignitaries of ancient Rome, the Roman Forum. They also took a trip to the Coliseum, where gladiators of old came together in combat. This is surely one of the finest examples of architecture in Rome.
The trip lasted for a week and was made possible by a partnership between Pivot Point and Federico Beauty Institute as a fine opportunity for study abroad. With this program, students can get a taste of the culture and style of people worldwide.
