Federico Students Visit Paris & Brussels

Nine students at the Federico Beauty Institute had the chance to go for ten days to Paris and Brussels this past autumn. The journey, which was included in the Pivot Point International program, opened the students up to many revelations as they go to experience unfamiliar cultures and consider new horizons in the beauty industry.

Gary Federico, Federico Beauty Institute's owner, and a French tour guide went with the students on the trip. Riding a double decker bus, they explored Paris, which was the first stop they made on the trip. The day's big tourist sites were the Louvre, Versailles, and the Eiffel Tower.

And while they were in Paris, tours of a few hair salons were arranged by Pivot Point International. This tour was to show students how French salons functioned behind the scenes so that they could see the difference between them and salons in the United States. One student who took part in the program, Kane Bratt, noted that the biggest difference was that stylists begin their schooling much earlier in France, some starting as early as 12 years of age.

This is considered very seriously over there. Kane stated that the stylists worked so hard and were so passionate about their work since they began their careers very young.

On day five, the group took a bus trip to the capital of Belgium, which is situated some 160 miles north. They also took a guided tour on bicycles while in Brussels to sample some of the world's greatest chocolate at Depla Pol.

The De Ridder Salon and Academy in Brussels was where these students took classes for a couple of days. Teachers who are renowned the world over train them in European styles that are driving the newest trends of the industry. William DiRidder, the owner, is a renowned international artist and shared his aesthetic talents by performing several demonstrations.

"I was taught by teachers from all over the globe. The trip opened up my eyes to the possibilities of so many opportunities out there." Madelyn Bingham stated that she hoped someday to take her career in beauty all over the world.

For students at the Federico Beauty Institute, this trip was something they'd remember for their whole life. They got to be tourists in Paris and Brussels, but they were also able to learn things as students of the beauty school.

Everyone studying at the Federico Beauty Institute gets the chance to study in Europe through the Pivot Point program. Additional trips had students going to the United Kingdom, Australia, and Japan. You never know where you will visit when you go to Federico Beauty Institute!
